Guilhermina "Nhamina" Miranda, was 98 years old. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. She peacefully left this world on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mosteiros tras, Fogo, Cape Verde of the late Maria and Napoleao Fernandes on December 5, 1924.
She was the wife of the late Manuel “Ney” Miranda. She is survived by her children Avelino “Fidjinho”, Maria “Pipi” Alves, Maria “Ioia” Brandao, Henriqueta “Belmira”Dasilva, Cecilio “chichi”, and her stepson Osvaldo. Her late daughter Maria Jesus, stepdaughter Linda, and her late three sons Joe “Nezinho”, Napoleao and Emanuel. She was predeceased by her two younger brothers. Nhamina leaves behind five generations of family who loves her unconditionally.
Nhamina was a woman of faith, who lived a long, beautiful, fulfilling life. She was a beautiful person in and out who spread joy and happiness to everyone she met. In her later years she enjoyed neighborhood walks, sewing, and spending time and joking with family. In her spare time she enjoyed popping bubble wrap and eating junk food.
One of her many greatest gifts was her ability to cook traditional Cape Verdean food. Also being a mother, not only to her children but to all those she encountered. She loved everyone equally as if they were her own.
Nhamina was such a hard worker. She had the most kindhearted, loving, and nurturing soul. Her life was a testament to love, family, and a deep connection to her roots. She leaves behind a legacy of love warmth, kindness, and cherished memories. Her kindness and generosity will forever be etched in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be in her presence. She touched the lives of many. She will be missed tremendously.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 6th, at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI from 4:00 -7:00pm. Funeral will be held Tuesday, November 7th 2023 from at 9:00 – 11:00am followed by burial to conclude services at Walnut Hill Cemetery, located at 200 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket , RI.
